Thermal sensor – protection against overheating

Each of our electric chain hoists has a permissible duty rate which must not be exceeded. This is the ratio of running time to running time and period of rest. The duty rate is limited by the permissible temperature of the windings in the lifting motor.

In practice, it is often difficult to take note of the duty rate during the lifting operation. To prevent the hoist motor from overheating or even burning out at this point, every 3-phase chain hoist from us is equipped with a thermal sensor as a standard. If the hoist motor heats up considerably, the thermal sensor ensures that the chain hoist is switched off. Only after cooling down it can resume the operation as usual.
